February 14 - March 28
No class on March 14
Great light makes great photos. It's the essential ingredient. What's great light? Light that has the direction, contrast, color, and other qualities, that makes your photo communicate what you want it to say, visually. The class will cover natural light, studio lighting, and flash. There will be hands-on demonstrations in class. If available, a photography exhibit will be visited. The class will photograph together in the field. Assignments will be given.
Prerequisite: Any digital camera is okay. You'll get more out of the class if the shutter can be changed on your camera (look for shutter-priority in the manual, or either S or Tv on a dial or screen on your camera). To use an external flash, your camera needs a hot shoe. Bring your camera's manual if you have one. Make sure the battery is charged and that there's space on the memory card.
